HOW TO LINK PAN WITH ADHAAR

To link your PAN (Permanent Account Number) with Aadhaar card, you can follow these simple steps:

Visit the Income Tax e-Filing website: Go to the official website of the Income Tax Department of India at https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home.

Click on the "Link Aadhaar" option: Look for the "Link Aadhaar" option on the homepage and click on it.

Enter PAN and Aadhaar details: On the next page, enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and name as mentioned on the Aadhaar card.

Verify details: Verify the details you have entered and enter the captcha code displayed on the screen.

Click on "Link Aadhaar": Once you have verified the details, click on the "Link Aadhaar" button.

Confirmation: A confirmation message will appear on the screen confirming that your Aadhaar card has been linked to your PAN.

Alternatively, you can also link your PAN and Aadhaar card by sending an SMS to either 567678 or 56161 with the following message: UIDPAN <SPACE> <12-digit Aadhaar number> <SPACE> <10-digit PAN number>.

It is mandatory to link your PAN with Aadhaar card as per the Income Tax Department of India. Failure to do so may result in the deactivation of your PAN card.

You can link multiple PAN cards with one Aadhaar card, but each PAN must be linked separately.

If there is a mismatch in your name as mentioned on your PAN card and Aadhaar card, you will need to update the name on either of the cards before linking them.

If your Aadhaar card is not yet updated with your current address, you can still link it with your PAN. However, it is recommended that you update your address on your Aadhaar card as well.

You can check the status of your PAN-Aadhaar linking by visiting the Income Tax e-Filing website and clicking on the "Link Aadhaar" option. The status will be displayed on the next page.

If you are facing any issues while linking your PAN and Aadhaar, you can contact the Income Tax Department's helpline at 1800 180 1961 or 1961 (for callers outside India) for assistance.
